2nd INTERNATIONAL RELIGIOUS PUBLICATIONS & BROADCASTINGS CONFERENCE:
FUTURE OF THE RELIGIOUS BROADCASTINGS

An International Conference on Religious Broadcastings
The Presidency of Religious Affairs (the Diyanet)

November 6-7, 2004, Ankara, Turkey

PROPOSED THEMATIC SESSIONS

This conference aims to consider, past, current and future of religious
broadcastings. The conference will mainly focus on Islamic programs on
TVs and radios, however Christian and Jewish TV and radio programs are
also considered.
Panels will be 20 minutes presentation and 10 minutes discussion each with
approximately 3 papers per session. Proposed thematic sessions include:
- Problems of religious broadcastings on televisions and radios
- Image of Islam on televisions in the globe
- Religious programs on televisions and radios
- Interviews
- Dramas
- Documentary films
- Cartoons
- Program objectives
- Target audience
- Giving message
- Audio-visual issues
- Language use
- Sponsorship and advertisements
Academics or postgraduates and professionals on religious programs
interested in participating in this International Conference on
Religious Broadcasting are kindly requested to submit their abstracts
(250 to 300 words) and a short biodata to the organiser. Conference

Call for papers deadline: September 15, 2004.
The organiser will meet expenses of paper presenters regarding to
plane ticket, accommodation and meals.
